From Vine to Table - Olive Oil

Updated: Sep 13

I still remember the first time I ever visited a Col'Cacchio. I was with my best friend Melissa and her family, and I was about eight months into my vegan journey. Being vegan, something not so common in my community at the time, meant that finding a place where we could all eat and enjoy ourselves was a bit of a challenge. But fear not when a Col'Cacchio is near!

Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the incredible aesthetic. The Italian-inspired decor, the warm ambiance, and the welcoming atmosphere were something special that I couldn’t quite put into words. We were greeted with the warmest smiles and promptly seated, setting the stage for a wonderful dining experience.

When it came time to order, we asked for recommendations for their best pizzas and most delicious pastas. As soon as the food arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. I can tell you, they did not disappoint. Normally, I'm not the biggest fan of olive oil, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it with their dishes. The vibrant, fresh ingredients paired with Willow Creek's balsamic vinegar did wonders for my soul. I had a beautiful, hearty salad that was so delicious, I couldn’t help but drizzle it generously with balsamic vinegar—it brought everything together in the most delightful way.

My best friend, Melissa, was on a pasta mission that night. I could see how much she was enjoying her meal, especially with a good splash of Willow Creek olive oil. It added just the right kick, giving her dish that perfect balance of flavours. “It’s like a whole new level of deliciousness,” she told me, and I could see she was not holding back!

That night at Col'Cacchio left a lasting impression on me. The combination of delicious, plant-based meals and the award-winning condiments from Willow Creek truly made the experience memorable. With Willow Creek having bagged several 2024 SA Olive Awards, it’s clear why their balsamic vinegar and olive oil added that extra touch to the meal. It's one of those moments that stays with you—a beautiful blend of good food, great company, and a dining experience that felt like home.
